FaST Lion member Mary Lorenz and our Kases4Kids program has won the
Bay Area Jefferson Award!!

CBS Channel 5 visited her in her home to interview and film her assembling backpacks.
The Jefferson Award segment aired at 6:00 pm on October 10 on your local CBS station.
You may also view it on www.cbs5.com. .
The complete article also appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle on October 7.

Mary purchases and fills 30 backpacks each month and delivers them to
Child Protection Services where they are given to children that are being
removed from their homes.
There are over 500 children removed from their homes in Solano County each year.
In each backpack she puts needed toiletries such as toothpaste, toothbrushe,
mouthwash, shampoo, soap, lotion, kleenex, comb, washcloth, and deodorant, along with
a notebook, pencils and crayons, and tops it all off with a cuddly stuffed animal
and a name tag.

Our Lions Club contributes to the cost of these backpacks.
